“You're under no obligation to be the same person you were 5 minutes ago.”

- Alan Watts

I was born on a little Spanish island that’s closer to Africa than Europe shortly after the Franco dictatorship ended. Born into a family of lawyers and doctors, I was expected to follow suit, but somewhere, somehow, I took a left turn at the last minute and decided to go for the arts, particularly the field of (rock) music. With equal parts rebellious punk nature and accumulated island fever, I left for Boston to study at Berklee College Of Music… 6 strings and a dream sort of thing. There, I understood my passion for music ran deeper than I realized and also that I’d never be half the guitar player most of my fellow students already were, so I went for a dual major in Film Scoring and Music Business & Management. I graduated in 1999 and decided that I was still too close to the islands and not adventurous enough, so I packed a few things and another bunch of dreams and moved to Los Angeles, where I’ve been living since and have been fortunate enough to have a successful career.

I started composing and producing music for commercials, working on campaigns that won many CLIOs and Cannes Lions awards, and collaborating with composers like Danny Elfman, Thomas Newman, Philip Glass, and many others. I also worked as a music supervisor and editor on some indie films, documentaries, and reality TV shows for ABC, FOX, and NBC. My main job, though, was creating catalogs of Production Music for other companies. Eventually, I specialized in music for movie and videogame trailers through Dos Brains, a company I founded in 2012 and that I still run to this day.

Throughout all this time, as music became a job, photography took over the role of expressing my most creative self… an artistic escape for my soul. Mostly self-taught, I started picking up a camera and losing myself behind the lens. It’s an immersive experience for me; the noise of the world subsides, and I become part of it all. I shoot a lot of concerts, but I also turn to the streets, and whatever interests me or the things I stumble upon or get called for. I sold a print the first time I exhibited my work, and I’ve published photos and articles in Music Connection, IndyRock, as well as other publications.

In the end, I’m a work in progress, simply following my intuition. Not sure what’s next, but this is me. So far.
